Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 September 2026

The Tea Hut is a business name of J2O Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 15 137 908 019). In these terms, "The Tea Hut", "we", "us" and "our" mean J2O Consulting Pty Ltd trading as The Tea Hut. "You" means the person using this website or placing an order.

These terms apply to your use of theteahut.com.au and to any order you place with us. Our Shipping & Returns page and our Privacy Policy form part of these terms. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

1. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in these terms, or anywhere else on this website, excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a term in these terms would otherwise do so, it applies only to the extent permitted by law.

2. Using this website

You may browse this website, print or save pages for your own personal use, and share links to our pages (including on social media).

You must not:

  • copy, reproduce or republish our product photographs, product descriptions, blog content or other material for a commercial purpose without our written permission;
  • use automated tools to scrape, harvest or mine data from this website without our written permission;
  • use this website in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or that damages or interferes with the website or its availability; or
  • upload or transmit any virus or other malicious code, or use the website to send unsolicited commercial messages.

If you are under 18, you may use this website and place orders only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

If you create an account, please keep your login details confidential and let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account. We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it has been used in breach of these terms or for fraudulent purposes.

4. Products and product information

We take care to describe and photograph our teas accurately. Tea and herbs are natural agricultural products, so colour, appearance, aroma and flavour can vary from batch to batch and season to season. Packaging may also change from time to time.

Where a product is described as certified organic, it is certified through our organic certification (SXC Organic Certification #24179).

Information on this website, including brewing guides and blog articles, is general information only and is not medical or health advice. If you plan to use herbs or teas for therapeutic purposes, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a health condition, please consult a qualified health professional before use. Please read the ingredients listed on each product carefully if you have any allergies or sensitivities, and contact us if you need more information.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Shipping charges are shown at checkout and on our Shipping & Returns page.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Afterpay and Zip. Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers using secure encryption. We do not store your full card details. If you use Afterpay, Zip or PayPal, that provider's own terms also apply to your payment.

We may change our prices at any time, but a price change will not affect an order we have already accepted.

6. Orders

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the products. The order confirmation email you receive tells you we have received your order. A contract is formed when we accept your order, which happens when we dispatch the goods or tell you the order has been accepted, whichever comes first.

We may decline or cancel an order (in whole or in part) before we accept it, including where:

  • a product is out of stock or no longer available;
  • there is an obvious error in the price or description of a product;
  • we cannot verify your payment, or we reasonably suspect fraud; or
  • we cannot deliver to the address you have provided.

If we cancel all or part of an order, we will let you know and refund any amount you have paid for the cancelled items in full, to your original payment method.

7. Discount codes and promotions

Discount codes and promotions are subject to any conditions stated with the offer, have no cash value, and unless stated otherwise cannot be combined with other offers or applied to orders already placed. We may withdraw a promotion at any time, but this will not affect orders already accepted.

8. Shipping and delivery

We ship within Australia using Australia Post. Shipping costs, dispatch times, delivery estimates and information about tracking, parcel lockers, authority to leave and late or missing parcels are set out on our Shipping & Returns page. Delivery times are estimates only and can be affected by carrier delays outside our control.

Please make sure your delivery address is correct. If a parcel is returned to us because of an incorrect address or because it was not collected, additional shipping charges may apply to send it again.

Ownership of the products passes to you once we have received payment in full. Risk in the products passes to you on delivery.

9. Returns and refunds

Our returns policy is set out on our Shipping & Returns page. If a product arrives damaged, faulty or is not what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and, where possible, a photo so we can help.

Because tea is a food product, we cannot generally accept returns of opened products for change of mind. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 1).

10. Reviews and content you submit

If you submit a product review, photo, comment or other content to this website, you confirm that it is your own genuine and honest opinion or your own original material, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or contain anything unlawful, offensive or misleading.

You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and publish that content on our website and marketing channels in connection with The Tea Hut. We may moderate content to remove material that is offensive, unlawful, spam or unrelated to the product, but we will not remove or edit reviews simply because they are negative.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, we own or are licensed to use the intellectual property in this website and its content, including the "The Tea Hut" name, logo, product photography, product descriptions and blog articles. Except as allowed in section 2, you may not use this material without our written permission.

12. Website availability and third-party links

We aim to keep this website available and its information accurate and up to date, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those websites.

13. Our liability

Subject to section 1 and to the extent permitted by law:

  • where the Australian Consumer Law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee in relation to goods that are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited to replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, or paying the cost of replacing the goods or acquiring equivalent goods; and
  • we are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or that is caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in this section limits our liability for loss caused by our negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Privacy

We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use cookies, analytics and advertising tools on this website.

15. Breach of these terms

If you misuse this website or breach these terms, we may suspend or restrict your access to the website or your account and take any other action reasonably available to us.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the law or to how we operate. The updated terms will apply from the date they are published on this page. The terms that apply to an order are the terms in place at the time you placed that order.

17. General

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be read down or removed to the extent necessary, and the rest of these terms will continue to apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.

18. Contact us

If you have a question, concern or complaint, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve it promptly.
